I suspect that the FTP support built into IE is one of its least-used features, but it is available to you when you need it. All you have to do is tell IE that you want to use FTP when you connect to a particular Internet address. You do that by using “ftp:” in the address bar instead of “http:”

DabbleDB looks very interesting. It is still in private beta testing. Seems like something that fits in with my interests: spreadsheets, databases, web apps, sharing. Here is a blurb from the dabbledb about page:

I would hope that Google would backup my Google account. But…

With all the recent talk of Gmail accounts being deleted, this is a very helpful guide that you can use to easily backup your Gmail.
To use your Gmail e-mail account in Outlook, you must first make sure POP3 support is enabled in Gmail, and then you can add it to Outlook.

What’s a Wiki?

A wiki is a group-editable website. Wikis are composed of web pages you can write on, enabling fast and easy collaboration.

The word “wiki” comes from a Hawaiian word for “quick”. Wikis were invented about 10 years ago by Socialtext advisor and friend Ward Cunningham. Wikis became the collaboration tool of choice because they are simple and flexible.

Most wikis today still require technical skill to install and use, while others are full of confusing features.

Basically, you can perform any task with RSS that requires search or information retrieval from a server. Automatically and repeatedly. Here are my favourites (please let me know if there are better services and I’ll update). I use this list to convince people to start using an RSS feed reader.
