The newest computer can merely compound, at speed, the oldest problem in the relations between human beings, and in the end the communicator will be confronted with the old problem, of what to say and how to say it — Edward R. Murrow

One of my goals of this site is to learn more about certain topics (see the list of ‘Content Pages’ to the right). Blogging, including blogging inside an organization is one of those topics. Here is a essay presented on John Dvorak’s blog by Andy Marken called: “To Blog or Not to Blog. That is the Question?.”

Dvorak Uncensored - Essay of the Week

Essay of the Week — This is a new category of post for me: outside contributions about major topics of the day hosted by Dvorak Uncensored. In this case it’s an essay by Andy Marken, of Marken Communications. It represents was a good essay is all about. Well-written and not beating a bunch of company drums. Marken, a PR professional from way back knows how to do this without having the material chopped up by the likes of me. This is running with virtually no edits. It’s an excellent essay that promoties the concept of CEO blogs. While I do not agree with all his points and find that he exaggerates the number of intra-corporate blogs out there, I think the overall argument needs to be said. A good read.

It provides a good basis for those of you promoting this kind of blogging.
